Announcing the fight he said on X: "My sights are set on becoming a world champion, and now I have a chance to prove myself against the greatest heavyweight champion of the world, the baddest man on the planet and the most dangerous boxer of all time. Time to put Iron Mike to sleep."

The pair are set to face off on July 20 at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with many people criticizing Paul for fighting someone almost 30 years older than him who has been retired for a long time.

Mike Tyson, 57, last fought in a 2020 exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. — a fight that ended in a draw. Jake Paul, 27, was also on the card that night, fighting in a preliminary match against former NBA player Nate Robinson.

Tyson has been sharing clips and photos from training, including several shirtless photos showing off his ripped physique. Many have wondered if Tyson would be healthy enough at 58 to fight Paul, who is just 27, but little by little those questions appear to be growing smaller. While appearing at a meet-and-greet event for Fiterman Sports Group in Chantilly, Virginia, Tyson took photos without a shirt.

The match is set for July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. The event will be livestreamed exclusively on Netflix via a partnership between the streaming giant and Paul’s Most Valuable Productions, Netflix announced Thursday.

Ahead of the exhibition match against Mike Tyson at AT&T Stadium on July 20th, Jake Paul surprised the boxing world when he trained with boxers from Team USA at the Colorado Springs Olympic & Paralympic Training Center. The likes of Jennifer Lozano and Morelle McCane helped ‘The Problem Child’ at above 6000 feet. Undoubtedly, Paul proved that he was taking the Mike Tyson fight seriously. In the wake of this incident, footage of Mike Tyson’s training has now been leaked!

Prior to the Paul vs Askren bout, Paul and one of his cornermen, American professional boxer J'Leon Love, were involved in a backstage confrontation with former UFC Welterweight Champion Tyron Woodley. After Paul defeated Askren, Woodley called him out. On August 29 Paul fought Woodley at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio and defeated him via split decision, with one judge scoring the fight 77–75 for Woodley, while the other two judges scored it 77–75 and 78–74 in favor of Paul. After the bout, Woodley expressed his desires for a rematch and Paul offered him one if he tattooed 'I love Jake Paul' on his body. The event reportedly generated 500,000 pay-per-view buys.

is famous for playing a guy who gets a face tattoo like mike tyson
is jake paul tyson tattoo real
In light of this, perhaps the speculation that it’s for the money isn’t so wrong after all. ‘Iron’ Mike has already left a rich legacy behind him in the sport. He’s had a storied career. Fighting Jake Paul would surely mean big things at this age, but is it worth it? From the looks of it, Tyson is preparing like it means the whole wide world.

This is an interesting fight to pick – given the age gap, and what both opponents have done over their careers. A clear winner can be determined by knockout, however. Given Paul's age and how active he's been recently in boxing (10 fights since 2020), it's easy to see why oddsmakers lean towards The Problem Child. Tyson is a +310 underdog, according to FanDuel.

Tyson (50-6, 44 KOs) battled Jones Jr. in an exhibition in November 2020, but he hasn’t taken part in a sanctioned professional boxing match since he was stopped by Kevin McBride in 2005, almost 20 years ago.

Paul’s face tattoo, however, is fake since they did not show the tattoo being done properly, which means this was just for promoting the fight. Furthermore, Paul blatantly imitating Tyson is his way of paying homage to the legend, but several fans did not enjoy it.

Julia Rose recently took to her Instagram to share a video in which she engaged in a bet with her father. Regrettably, luck was not on her side, and according to the bet’s rules, the defeated party had to wear a temporary face tattoo of the winner’s choosing. In this case, Julia found herself having to don a temporary face tattoo inspired by none other than Mike Tyson.

Paul has since defeated Andre August and Ryan Bourland, two much lesser-known boxers who both went down in the first round. Tyson figures to be a very, very different challenge. That is, assuming the fight actually happens.

Tyson once revealed that he spontaneously got the tattoo done and did it because it looked cool. Furthermore, Tyson revealed that he initially wanted to get hearts as a face tattoo but changed his mind at the last moment. As such, Tyson decided to instead get a tattoo that could represent his fierce spirit, and he chose this tattoo.

The 57-year-old boxing legend confirmed Tuesday in a Fox News interview that his bout with the YouTuber-turned-boxer will be an exhibition match — but without the restrictions you often see in an exhibition match. He also promised that Paul is mistaken if he believes he can hurt him:

The most puzzling pre-fight antics have come courtesy of Jake Paul, which we kind of expect from the guy who illegally touts cryptocurrencies and once got married purely for social media engagement. This time, his stunts are focused squarely on his imminent opponent, with Paul recently revealing a facial tattoo identical to Tyson’s.

The timing and choice of the tattoo sparked widespread speculation. His coach, Jeff Fenech, suggested to Fox Sports, the tattoo was more than aesthetics, hinting at Tyson’s reluctance to fight: “I thought we are fighting in a week, and when you get a tattoo, you can’t fight because they snap up and it wouldn’t be healthy to do that. We sat down and spoke, and he didn’t really want to fight and he wasn’t prepared to, and that was one of the reasons he got the tattoo.” The fight was even cancelled once, as his coaching team thought that his lack of conditioning could lead to him losing the fight. Yet, Tyson defied doubts, ended up fighting Clifford, decisively ending the bout with Etienne in a mere 49 seconds, showcasing his undiminished prowess.

In time, another communist appeared on Tyson's body - Argentine revolutionary Ernesto Che Guevara, a personality as dubious as he was famous. The bloody Latin American politician, who fanatically imposes the order known to him alone in one country or another, fits perfectly with the boxer's turbulent biography, where aggression often went beyond the ring.

Know of boxing’s consensus favorite heavyweight and youngest champ Mike Tyson? Sure you do. Do you know that he is facing a 9-1 (6KOs) YouTuber boxer next? You just might. Did you know he has 44 career knockouts till now? Or that he once bit a peer’s ear off during a bout? That is a famed affair. What about his iconic face tattoo? Of all the above, that stands out as his selling point.

On May 24, Chief Judge Catherine D. Perry of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri denied Whitmill a preliminary injunction, but said that because the film showed the entire tattoo on Helms' face in its original form, it did not do so in parody. The judge scheduled a permanent injunction in about a month.

"It may be possible -- the courts will be weighing in on this based on many considerations," Liebesman told Life's Little Mysteries. "Under the Copyright Act, a tattoo could meet the requirement that the work be an 'original work of authorship fixed in a tangible medium of expression.'"

In the post-trap era, different pop culture icons have immersed themselves in the world of face tattoos, with varying degrees of daring. Justin Bieber inscribed the word “grace” above his eyebrow, as a subtle declaration of faith. British actress Cara Delevingne got a tattoo of a diamond inside her right ear and, on the outside of the same ear, she engraved four stars in the shape of the Southern Cross constellation, a symbol of Brazil that was inked during a trip to Rio de Janeiro. Actor Jamie Foxx has a large tribal tattoo on the back of his head that, according to what he said in an interview, he got for his 40th birthday.

Fenech was actually training Tyson ahead of his fight with Clifford Ettiene in Las Vegas in 2003; it was supposed to be an opportunity for ‘Iron Mike’ to get back in line for a rematch with Lennox Lewis.

This past February, Julia Bermejo, who has worked as a bookseller for 15 years, decided to get a sun with boots tattooed on one of her cheeks. This was designed by JLR, a Sevillian tattoo artist who reinterprets Andalusian imagery with a personal touch. At the time, she already had several tattoos on her body. “My mother would say many, I would say a few,” she jokes. She got her first one when she was 17 or 18. “It was a time when there weren’t so many tattooed people, but I had .” She didn’t mark her body again until she was 30. “I had a shitty breakup and I thought the best thing was to leave a record. Sometimes, we give tattoos the same meaning as the entry in our diary… but on our own skin.”

One fateful day in the winter of 2003, Mike Tyson decided to get an enormous tribal tattoo right on his face. You might think that’s the sort of thing he’d look back on now at the age of 50 and regret, but no.

does mike tyson still have a face tattoo
Although the design of the Mike Tyson tattoos has remained virtually unchanged since its creation, from time to time he has made minor changes or additions to the pattern. These changes reflect Tyson’s changing tastes and preferences.

S. Victor Whitmill, the tattoo artist who created and tattooed Mike Tyson’s facial tribal tattoo, filed a lawsuit against Warner Bros. for copyright infringement on April 28, 2011. Whitmill claims that the facial tattoo appearing on Ed Helms’s character Stu Price in The Hangover Part II infringes on Whitmill’s rights to the tattoo that he created for Tyson. See the side by side image on the TMZ website.

But an iconic tattoo having a whole different shape takes the cake. Just imagine a prime boxer with raw power, arrested multiple times, but sporting cute hearts on his face! A prime sentiment on X (@JiujitsuOtter) reacted “I’d buy him a beer for having the heart not to do it and made the most iconic tattoo in sports history instead.”

“I have a morphine drip, and I had my cocaine, and I had my Cialis, I had my marijuana, I had the Hennessy,” Tyson said. “I started beating them. I was in a dark place. There was a purpose, though, because I didn’t want to give them any more of my soul.”

3. The tradition of boxers getting tattoos can be traced back to the early 1900s when sailors returning from their journeys would often have tattoos to showcase their adventurous spirit. Boxers, seeking to exhibit strength and toughness, adopted this trend, and it became popular within the sport.

Within the boxing realm, opinions regarding tattoos vary significantly. Some fighters believe that tattoos are an essential part of their identity, connecting their inner beliefs to their physical selves. Conversely, there are boxers who question the relevance of tattoos, perceiving them as distractions from the primary goal of winning in the ring. These divergent perspectives highlight the individuality and diversity within the sport of boxing.

Tyson went on to become the youngest heavyweight champion of the world when he was 20 years old. He won 12 of his first 19 fights by knockout in the first round. He was powerful and ferocious. Tyson struck fear into his opponents and wound up winning 50 professional fights. He won 44 of them by knockout.

Some argue that the Mao tattoo is also a symbol of Tyson’s own triumph over adversity. Throughout his life, Tyson has faced numerous setbacks, including legal troubles, financial difficulties, and personal struggles. Yet, he has managed to rise above them, reclaim his life, and develop a successful career as an entertainer, actor, and entrepreneur.

why did mike tyson get face tattoo
mike tyson tattoo face meaning Tyson’s respect for Zedong came while in prison where he read several books about the leader. It was while inside that Tyson decided to get a portrait tattoo of Zedong, with his name “Mao” tattooed underneath. In 2006 Tyson visited the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall, with the Chicago Tribune reporting Tyson said, “Standing in front of Chairman Mao’s remains, I felt really insignificant. To have the chance to visit the memorial hall is a great honor for me.”

These decisions aren't just chuckle-worthy, random choices, though. Back around the time he bit Holyfield's ear off and got his tattoo, Iron Mike had some severe substance abuse problems. On top of that, he suffered from chronic pain resulting from his boxing career, for which he was prescribed opioids. Those, however, only destabilized him more. Eventually, he turned to pot, and as his current business partner, Rob Hickman, says, "It changed his life. He's the perfect person." Tyson evened out, and now he wants to support upcoming weedpreneurs, saying, "I thought about how much good I could do by helping people with cannabis... It was a no-brainer."

Mike Tyson, one of the most famous and controversial boxers of all time, has left an indelible mark on the history of the sport. He began his career in 1985 and soon became the youngest ever world heavyweight champion, defeating Trevor Berbick in 1986 at the age of 20. Tyson was known for his powerful punching, aggressive style and swift knockouts that made him a crowd favorite.

Amidst this turbulent backdrop, Tyson made a decision that would reverberate far beyond the confines of the boxing world. In 2003, during a trip to Las Vegas, he sought the services of renowned tattoo artist Victor Whitmill to etch an indelible symbol of cultural significance onto his face. The chosen design, a striking Maori-inspired facial tattoo, held profound personal significance for Tyson, serving as a visual testament to his inner journey and the enduring resilience that had carried him through life's trials and tribulations.

Mike Tyson face tattoos were created by renowned tattoo artist S. Victor Whitmill, and it was his skill and creativity that made him a sought-after celebrity. Whitmill, who has experience and talent in creating unusual and symbolic designs, was chosen by Tyson to do this important work. С. Victor Whitmill is known for his considerate approach to the world and principled ideas in life that reflect people’s personal histories and inner worlds. His work with Tyson has become one of the most famous tattoos in the world and has played a crucial role in shaping the new image of the classic boxer.

The intricate designs associated with Maori and Polynesian tribal art are often rich with symbolism and convey important cultural messages. The symbols, shapes, and patterns used in these tattoos represent different aspects of an individual’s life, such as their family heritage, achievements, and personal beliefs.
