University of Alberta ecology professor Mark Boyce has co-ordinated analysis on the aftermath of wildfires in North America. He mentioned it typically takes a 12 months or two until vegetation grows back enough for most wildlife to return. It could take wherever from 4 to 12 years for it to reach peak levels
